Presentation title
It’s good to torque: Incisor torque outcomes with clear aligner therapy
Clear aligner therapy (CAT) is a commonly undertaken treatment modality. In an orthodontic context, root torque relates to bucco-lingual root movement. Achieving desired root torque is essential for optimal aesthetic and occlusal outcomes. The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview of torque as it pertains to orthodontic treatment and to explore the evidence regarding incisor torque changes associated with CAT. Reasons as to why achieved torque changes do not match those planned before the beginning of treatment will be proposed and suggestions as to how to obtain greater efficacy in the management of torque changes will be presented.
Learning outcomes
- Gain insight into the evidence related to incisor torque changes with CAT.
- Identify situations where planned torque changes are potentially not achievable.
