Title

Evidence based medicine in early orthodontic treatment

Abstract

There has been a debate for years regarding the optimal timing of orthodontic intervention in various malocclusions. On one hand early intervention, at the mixed dentition stage, utilizes the growth modification potential and promotes further beneficial skeletal development. On the other hand, some clinicians favor a more conservative approach, preferring to start treatment after puberty to avoid potential risk of relapse associated with early intervention. Both options using various treatment methods have their ardent supporters. So how to choose the optimal approach and technique depending on patient's age?

Evidence Based Medicine organizes and applies current and reliable data to improve health care decisions. This way, the best and scientifically validated  knowledge is combined with the clinical experience facilitating meeting the patients’ expectations and offering them the most sound and customized therapeutic decisions.

The lecturers will review and systemize currently available scientific data on various malocclusions treatment in growing patients.
